Every Simpsons Ever

We've been enjoying the Simpsons marathon over the last few days on FXX. So many wonderful classic episodes. Loving the Summer of 4'2", Lisa becoming a vegetarian, the monorail, Dr. Zaius, Bart's people, Homer gaining 300 pounds, all of the old gags and supporting players from Milhouse to Sideshow Bob to Groundskeeper Willie to Bumblebee Man to the ridiculous gags and sentimentality. I forgot about those touching moments like Homer covering his work station with Maggie's photos.

That show is classic, and I cannot believe it's been on the air for nearly 25 years. And I owe my marriage in a way to it!

Goodbye Edna Krabappel

I thought this was a lovely tribute to Mrs. Krabappel and Marcia Wallace. I don't watch the Simpsons much anymore, but this is class. Poor Ned Flanders, too.
Jean confirms that “out of great respect” for Wallace, Bart’s sharp-tongued teacher is being retired, and the March 9 episode will serve as the last time you will see or hear from Edna on the show. “She wouldn’t be in a background, and obviously we don’t have any more vocals,” he says. “What we would never do is say, ‘Here’s Mrs. Krabappel,’ and voice it with someone else.”

RIP Edna Krabappel

Sadly, Marcia Wallace, who voiced Edna Krabappel on the Simpsons for the past quarter of a century (!!!), passed away last weekend. DCIst lists some of the best episodes with Mrs. Krabappel. Personally? I do like that Halloween episode and the one with Gordie Howe.
10. "Treehouse of Horror V, Nightmare Cafeteria" 1994
The one in which the entire faculty begins feasting on children, starting with German exchange student Uter. One of Mrs. K's most memorable "Hah!" comes after Skinner admits the burger she's eating is made out of bully Jimbo Jones. She says, "it's so young and impudent." The homework assignment to the dwindling class: "Eat a stick of butter" as she gleefully croaks, "Detention" to the quaking students.

1. "Bart the Lover," 1992
Bart decides to play a prank on his teacher by sending her love letters as fictitious dreamboat "Woodrow." When he realizes how heartbroken she is after being stood up, he turns to his family to draft the ultimate farewell letter that will let her down gently.

RIP Troy McClure

Thought this was awesome. It serves as the full filmography of Troy McClure, whom you may remember from such films.

And 15 years ago, Phil Hartman passed away. The Simpsons, sans Troy McClure was never the same. He is missed.
